Notice is
hereby given that the Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA) is requesting sealed
proposals for furnishing all labor and materials and performing all work in
accordance with the Plans and Specifications and other Contract Documents,
known as KTA Contract No. 4890, Leavenworth County, Kansas
TYPE OF WORK: The project consists of a 2” mill
and asphaltic concrete pavement inlay of passing & driving lanes and
shoulders of the Kansas Turnpike between Milepost 210.7 and Milepost 216.6 in Leavenworth
County.
Bidding
PLANS AND PROPOSALS may be obtained at the office of Michael L. Johnston,
President/CEO, Kansas Turnpike Authority, 9401 East Kellogg, Wichita, Kansas,
67207-1804. Plans and specifications
may be ordered by telephone, (316) 652-2610, or e-mail,
mdaniels@ksturnpike.com. A $25 non-refundable fee is required for each set of
Plans and Specifications ordered.
PRE-QUALIFICATION: Contractors wishing to bid this project must
be pre-qualified by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
SEALED
PROPOSALS: Sealed proposals
will be accepted at the Capital Plaza Hotel, 1717 SW
Topeka Blvd., Topeka, Kansas from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 13,
2008. Should a Contractor wish to
submit a proposal prior to that time, it will be accepted at the Kansas
Turnpike Authority Topeka Office at 3939 SW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, Kansas, 66609
until Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at 12:00 pm.
All proposals will be opened and read publicly at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May
13, 2008, in the Emerald Room at the Capital Plaza Hotel, 1717 SW Topeka Blvd.,
Topeka, Kansas. Facsimile bids
will not be accepted. Proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount
of 5 percent of bid and made payable to the Kansas Turnpike Authority as
guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and give a performance
bond as required if awarded the contract.
The award of each
contract shall be in accordance with the provisions of Standard Specifications
of the Kansas Department of Transportation, edition 2007, and will be based
upon the summation of the products of the unit prices and the approximate
quantities.
The Authority reserves the right
to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularity therein, to determine
which is the lowest responsible bid most suitable to the Authority.
