Convoys on the Kansas Turnpike

PROCESS BELOW

Groups of vehicles traveling together are referred to as convoys and have the potential to create unique travel conditions on the Kansas Turnpike. To help maintain a safe travel environment for all turnpike customers, KTA requires advance notification for the following:

  • Convoys with more than 25 vehicles, including motorcycles

  • Military convoys

  • VIP/Secret Service convoys

  • Groups of five or more vehicles unable to maintain a minimum speed of 40 mph

  • Groups of vehicles traveling under special circumstances that could interfere with the normal traffic movement

Should convoys meet one or more of the conditions identified above, please complete the Convoy Notification Form at least one week in advance of your travel date.Coordinating with KTA in advance will help facilitate your trip on the day of travel while also maintaining the safety of other customers using the Kansas Turnpike.

KTA cannot waive tolls for groups regardless of the nature or purpose of the convoy. Each vehicle traveling in the convoy is responsible for toll payment based upon its number of axles and how it is identified, either by an electronic transponder, such as KTAG, or a license plate.

Please submit your Convoy Notification Form to KTA@ksturnpike.com at least one week prior to travel.
